Paul Ericson Joins Sparling as Studio Director

September 6, 2013 - Sparling is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Ericson, PE to their San Diego office as Studio Director, responsible for studio management, project delivery teams, quality control and delivering the "Sparling Experience" to clients and owners.

A licensed professional engineer in California and Arizona, Ericson brings with him over 30 years of experience as an engineering consultant in the Southern California region with expertise in a variety of markets and project types.

"Paul's management and leadership experience will be a great addition to our team," said Eric Overton, Sparling President/CEO. "San Diego and entire Southern California market has really picked up over the last 12 months. With our office adding new staff and our backlog on a steep growth curve, having Paul on our team adds depth and expertise to our already outstanding team of professionals."

Ericson has received several awards for lighting projects he's been involved with including the City of San Diego Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge, UCSD East Campus Parking Structure and the Exterior Lighting for the San Diego County Administration Center.

Ericson is active in numerous industry organizations including the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) where he serves as a committee chair. He is also affiliated with the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), US Green Building Council (USGBC), among others.
